Terry Fox’s story continues to inspire volunteers across Canada

The figure of Terry Fox as a Canadian hero remains strong and inspires many people not only to run and raise funds for cancer research, but also to give some of their time to several other causes. Jacque Thompson, 70, came from Peterborough to Woodbine Beach on Sunday, Sept. 17, especially to attend the Terry Fox Run with her friend Pat Flude, 69, a breast cancer survivor. At the end of their walk, with the help of crutches for Flude, the pair felt satisfied with their accomplishments. Thompson is a retired nurse who is involved with community care events and feels very proud of her volunteer work. Listen to the interview here:
