Cancer victim’s friend runs at Terry Fox event at Cedarbrook Park in Toronto, 2014.

By: Lenoxcia Sutherland, Centennial Journalism

It was Marlene Boulanger’s first time participating in the Terry Fox Run on Sunday, September 14, 2014. Not only has she volunteered for the Cedarbrook Park event, but in her free time she also volunteers at a hospital, for a breast cancer walk and for a seniors home.

Boulanger is running for her friend Bridget, who died of cancer last year. She knows first hand what it is like to lose someone important to this terrible decease. She tells Centennial Journalism’s Lenoxcia Sutherland why the Terry Fox run is so important to her. Listen here.
