Wayne, who declined to give his last name, attended the 2013 Terry Fox Run held at Woodbine Beach. He graduated from Simon Fraser University a couple of years after Terry Fox and even now, as a Toronto resident, Wayne continues to run in Terry Fox’s name. While he’s grateful he had the opportunity to have Fox as such a close personal idol growing up, he realizes how easy it is to take it for granted.
For him, Fox’s message has always been about cancer’s effect on the young. He tells Centennial Journalism’s Erin Buckley why Terry Fox remains important for future generations. Listen here:
