Scarborough native Julie Valerio was a young girl working in downtown Toronto when Terry Fox made first his inspirational run. Now, over 33 years later, she has made a point to run for his cause almost every year since. She has seen many friends and family members deal with the disease over the years, including her husband Joe’s father who died of liver cancer. Valerio tells Centennial Journalism’s Shelby Morton why she and her husband run each year, and why she thinks this cause has become so important to Canadians. Listen to the interview here.
