Chef at Hockley General Store restaurant looks to Europe for inspiration: Jacques Vendsvoort

by Zackary Young, Centennial Journalism

After years of cooking behind a propane stove, Jacques Vendsvoort, the head chef at the Hockley General Store in Hockley, Ontario, has found time to sit back and admire the simplicity of the community around him. With his two small dogs, Vendsvoort has settled down in a small house located on the same property he works in.  He sat down with Centennial Journalism’s Zackary Young on the busy patio of his restaurant as he retells the story of his life in the food industry. Listen to the interview here.
